- Discover authentic Dalmatia through the abandoned villages of Malo and Velo Grablje
- Enjoy traditional architecture
- Learn about Mediterranean plants, especially lavender and its importance
- Try amazing local food
This tour will take you down an interesting path of stories of lavander, beautiful landscape and traditional architecture. Learn why people don`t simply inhabitate the Lost Villages of Hvar, they live and breath them. Choose between half or full day tour.
The tour starts with a 15-minute transfer from Hvar town to the view point that offers views of the north and south coasts of Hvar and the amazing islands of Brač and Vis. You will enjoy walking on the preserved part of the medieval highway which used to connect Hvar and Stari Grad in the Middle Ages. We will also pass by a small chapel erected in St. Vid’s honor.
We will hike through villages where you would see the beauties of traditional architecture and way of living, learn about medical herbs and much more.
Hiking from V.Grablje to Malo Grablje is quite easy trail to follow. It is the best choice for short walks during hot summer days and for perhaps less active groups who would like to experience the challenges of walking in the nature.
With its location, landscape, architecture and tradition, Velo Grablje is one of the most interesting villages of the island of Hvar – largest producer of lavender oil of the 20th century. You will find out what exactly happened to the production and why it has been reduced to but a few smaller producers.
We continue our walk to Malo Grablje. This small village gives a real insight into authentic Dalmatia.
If you opted for the half-day tour, your tour ends in Malo Grablje and you will go back to Hvar town by transfer.
If you opted for the full-day tour, after a short break in Malo Grablje, we will walk for about 20 minutes to Milna. Milna is situated in a secluded cove with stunning beaches and pine woods.
We continue our walk on the small rocky trail to Hvar town. It lasts approximately 1.30 h (depending on speed).
