Driving to Hvar

Although the drive to Hvar is easy, with good roads and great views (and signs in English!), you will need to allow almost 4 to 5 hours to get here.
The easiest way to Hvar via Dubrovnik, or opposite, is to go to Drvenik, a little coastal town which is half way to Split and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once in Drvenik, you need to take a car ferry that goes to Sucuraj, a village on the “far” side of Hvar Island. The ferry departures from Drvenik are very frequent and the crossing is just 35 minutes.
From Sucuraj it’s a 1.5 hour drive to Hvar Town on some wonderful road, so take your time and enjoy this beautiful ride.

If you have the time, you will definitely enjoy travelling through such picturesque villages and ‘’wilderness’’. And since you have a day, why not stop and buy some buy lavender, or have a lunch – a good place is the eco village and restaurant Humac at Jakov and Keti Franicevic e.g. or restaurant Gusarska Luka at Sucuraj town.
