For men, Split is famous for beautifully-tailored shirts and handmade ties. Indeed the cravat began in Croatia when Croatian mercenaries came to the aid of Louis XIV wearing their unique neckwear along with their armor. The ever fashion-conscious French loved the "cravats" and soon they were the rage of Louis' court. Today's neckwear designers have continued the tradition and the silk, wool-blend and cotton cravats for men and women (some beautifully hand-embroidered) are even more gorgeous.
Whether you are looking for discount heaven or designer haute couture, our Split Shopping Experience will take you to the best department stores, boutiques, artisan galleries and antique shops. Your discovery will include not only the shops that line the small alleys that run along the Palace walls (which stay cool in the summer because they are protected from the sun by the tall stone walls), but private ateliers. Our Split Shopping Experience is limited to just 10 people.

Public transport: The catamaran from Hvar departs at: 6.30AM, 7:30AM, 1:45PM. From Split the catamaran departs at: 11:30AM, 2PM, 5PM. The trip takes about an hour.
